Hollow City

the Second Novel of Miss Peregrine's Peculiar Children
Oct 18, 2017
The book 'Hollow City' by Ransom Riggs was an adventurous and suspenseful book to read. I was quite invested while reading it. Since most characters of the book seemed to be in their teenage years, it made me feel more connected to the story and I felt as if I was a peculiar myself. With all the astonishing events that occurred in this tale, I believe the moral idea was to show commitment and to never give up, even if things don't always go as planned. I believe that many connections can be made from 'Hollow City'. For example, the moments of determination and fear for their poor ymbrine reminded me of a time I went on a big rollercoaster I was terrified of, I did not know what was to come and how I would manage but I felt as if I wanted to do it anyways to show my mental strength. I would rate this book a 5/5 and definitely recommend others, specifically teenagers, to go read this brilliant book! @Beavertailreader of the Hamilton Public Library's Teen Review Board The second book of a lot of trilogies are often fillers for gaps, but this book packed in a perfect amount of... everything. I really enjoyed flipping through each page faster than the previous and living the story with Jacob and Emma. Children, now confused and chased by "monsters," must uncover the path of those before them in order to save their beloved mentor/ymbryne. On a journey of ups and downs, hope and fear, love and betrayal, no one could have predicted how everything would eventually turn out the way it did. Is it all a trap? Even so, must they still run into it headfirst? @Siri of the Teen Review Board of the Hamilton Public Library
