After reading Red Sparrow I needed more and was elated to find out Jason Matthews wrote two more books on Dominika Egorova. In the first book I didn't get the recipes, and Matthews continues the same pattern in this book, but this time I became a believer. The goal is full and total immersion and I did a belly flop right on the deep end. The action and pace is almost dizzying. Matthews doesn't let up for even a minute. I don't think I took a breath for the entire third act of the book. I can not wait to dive into the Kremlin's Candidate. I'd love to shake the hand of the man who not only has me creating Russian dishes (to the surprising delight of my household) but has taught me enough Russian to consider a trip abroad. I finished the book in four days of non-stop, barely time to use a bookmark reading and I love every second of it. Secretly, I am still holding out hope for a Jason Matthews screenplay with all three books coming to our screens via Netflix or Amazon **It goes without saying that one should never watch the movie Red Sparrow. As Hollywood is prone to do they completely butchered the story and cheated the beautiful Jennifer Lawrence out of what would have been a blockbuster trilogy.
