Notices
Add NoticesSexual Content: You do see ALOT of WOMEN news reporter's LINGERIE/UNDERGARMENTS, as ROGER AILES wants to know if the employee is loyal.
Sexual Content: Lots of discussion of sex and sexual assault. Two women are in bed together wearing only underwear, they talk and kiss. No nudity or sex is shown. Women in varying stages of undress in a dressing room, again, no nudity.
Coarse Language: Quite a bit of swearing. Lots of sexual comments and innuendo.
Quotes
Add a QuoteSome quotes in IMDb but this dialogue between Megyn (Charlize Theron) and Kayla (Margot Robbie), in part or whole is not, P1 of 2:
You used to work with Gretchen, right?
- Mmm-hmm.
Did you learn a lot from her?
- I did, yes.
I have nothing but good things to say about her. That's great. You know, I always find it so interesting who history chooses to do something important.
- Mmm. I guess.
Listen, I wanted to ask you... I wanted to ask you if Roger is harassing you.
- How did you know?
We find each other.
- You, too?
Long time ago.
- Wow.
You okay?
- Mmm-hmm.
You should report Roger. You'll be protected.
- Did you?
Some quotes in IMDb but this dialogue between Megyn and Kayla, in part or whole is not, P2 of 2:
I took it to his superior. Nothing happened. I had to drop it.
- Why?
I wanted to be on television.
- Did you think what your silence would mean? For us? The rest of us?
Roger is not my fault.
- It would've been nice if... If somebody told us that he's after more than legs.
It's nobody's job to protect you, Kayla.
- That's all of our job. I don't get you. You're... You have power. Why are you still playing
by old rules? You're Megyn Kelly.
Look around, snowflake. How do you think I succeeded? How do you think a woman
gets a prime-time Fox show?
- So, you had sex with him?
Jesus fucking Christ.
Megyn Kelly: If I learned anything this year, it's to not get sucked into a fight with someone who has better reason to be in it than you do.

Comment
Add a CommentWell done and worth a look if interested in the background story of Megyn Kelly leaving Fox Network and the turfing of Roger Ailes and Bill O'Reilly. Also provides an insight into the Fox Network culture (beyond how it viewed/treated females) - assuming the movie accurately reflects this.

This was a great movie with a great cast. I love movies based on real life, and this one was shocking to say the least.
Such an interesting film and it really makes me angry what men in power can get away with.
Very well done and completely captured the sleazeball nature of predatory people in power. Charlize Theron absolutely morphed into Megyn Kelly, but Nicole Kidman still looked like Nicole Kidman so that was a little distracting. The Special Features were 94 minutes and well worth watching.
As a film, it’s not as entertaining as I thought. As a current political social issue, it’s interesting. It would make you think what could secretly happen behind the scene when you watch news. I am surprised how a movie production can get permission from Fox News for it to be on this film cause it is surely not a positive image.
This is a very interesting movie with lots of information I didn't know.
This movie, categorizes (RATED: R) by library for: Sexual Material and Language throughout.
I THOUGHT after watching entire DVD movie - it was an erotic "COMEDY/DRAMA", like PG-13 (Parents Strongly Cautioned)
/
When the Original FOX NEWS Version came out in 2016, it was more realistic; but for these high-paid Actresses in (2020 BOMBSHELL movie) - it (I) just felt bland emotions (as compared to what happened 4-years-prior).
/
Because I thought this 2020 DVD movie should have been a COMEDY/DRAMA; I could not STOP LAUGHING THROUGHOUT the entire 1hr 49min.
But others viewing this movie, might find it offensive on the subject of SEXUAL HARRASSEMENT TOWARDS WOMEN.
/
When the NEWS BROKE of Roger Ailes' s sexual harassment lawsuits - I HAD TO CONTINUALLY PAUSE MOVIE on my computer - to read all the "Breaking News reports" - between sections (1hr29MIN 15secs thru 29MIN 33secs).
/
!!! WARNING TO OTHERS WHO WANT, but HAVE NOT BORROWED THIS DVD MOVIE from library: The Bonus Materials are EXTREMELY-SUPER LONG !!!
/
On the ENDING CREDITS TO REMIND THE VIEWER: This is a re-creation of what happened 4-years-prior.
LIONS GATE FILMS states: THIS FILM (released December 20, 2019) IS A DRAMATIZATION INSPIRED BY ACTUAL EVENTS (and) THE CHARACTERS HAVE BEEN CREATED FOR "DRAMATIC PURPOSES".

> my own comment <: This was a fun DVD movie to watch, but TOO MANY PROSTHETICS. This DVD movie would have been more enjoyable seeing Before(prosthetics) and After(prosthetics) - IMAGES/pictures.
A strong cast, led by Charlize Theron (as Megyn Kelly), Nicole Kidman (as Gretchen Carlson), and Margot Robbie (as a made up character), lifts up this somewhat paint by numbers account of the fall of Roger Ailes (played as an ogre by John Lithgow). Director Jay Roach, known for the "Austin Powers" series, was probably the wrong guy for this movie, as it requires a subtlety and wit that he doesn't possess. Weren't there any female directors available? Kate McKinnon makes the most of her few scenes. Russell Crowe also played Ailes in "The Loudest Voice." See you in hell jerk.
Excellent movie make sure you see it.
