Like mysteries? This movie was SO fun to watch with many twists & turns .. I couldn't figure it out myself. Someone is very creative to come up with all these details. I enjoyed it VERY much during Snowvid21, and really wanted to watch it again (not my norm) but someone is waiting for it. ps Don't let the Title scare you off .. I almost did. You'll "get it" in the end.

Very similar to the Clue movie but it's not as fun & enjoyable It's a typical who done it by following the clues. It's definitely not funny but satire is pretty blah. With the number of actors that are in the movie, I expected a movie that was pretty good but got the opposite, which is the reason it did badly in the theaters. The only part I liked & enjoyed was the last 20 seconds of the movie - the expressions of the family members when they see the heir on the balcony. That was priceless.

This movie fails everywhere it tried. The plot was trite, the characters were atrocious, the writing and dialogue were absolutely abysmal. The ONLY reason this movie is getting ANY praise is because of it's laughably bad political undertones and the director's rabid, cultish fanbase after his last film made such a horrendous impact.

Terrific film--smart, funny, genuinely good plotting. An Agatha Christie for the modern age.
Fun performances across the board, and maybe it's an especially good watch with the passing of Christoper Plummer.
Highly recommended if you like an entertaining but still solid mystery.

Entertaining enough to be worth a watch but not plausible enough to be taken seriously and not funny enough to be a comedy. Plenty of predictable bits.

So, is this murder mystery movie as good as they say it is? YES! I thought it was wonderful! A really stellar A-list cast, all have delicious fun together. Lots of twists and turns in the plot. A lot of wonderful, twisted, dark humour. And a wonderful setting in a gorgeous, spooky mansion. (I would love to live in that fantastic house!) The plot wasn't perfect, but overall it was a great film. Anyone who loves Agatha Christie type murder mysteries should love this. The film features the great Christopher Plummer in one his last roles as eccentric novelist Harlan Thrombey who is discovered murdered in his study. Who did it? It couldn't have been one of his dysfunctional family members, could it? Daniel Craig, Chris Evans, Jamie Lee Curtis, Toni Collette, all so good. Why can't there be more outstanding movies like this?

like Michael Jackson said, it's .....THE THRILLER !!!

For this DVD Movie #that I watched on my Computer#, which came out in Theaters NOVEMBER 27, 2019;
THE MAIN PLOT is about a famous MYSTERY (crime novelist) WRITER "Harlan Thrombey", starring
This LONG and TEDIOUS dvd movie (2hr 10mins); in which there is NO REAL ENDING - leaving everyone WATCHING, into thinking 'WHO-DUNN-IT" ???
THE 47-years-old AMERICAN FILM DIRECTOR "Rian Johnson" - toyed with the idea of an UNRELIABLE (GENRE) NARRATIVE.
He did NOT WANT AUDIENCES ending up, knowing too much with not much of a Mystery occurring; UNTIL THE
VERY END of the film, where it is almost Instantly Solved.
In this PG-13 movie “KNIVES OUT” the actors/actresses, USES the F-word Twice and Very Blatantly.
AND, saying “Eat S—” multiple times in the span of 10 seconds in the THEATRICAL DRAMA SCENE, suggesting
Graphic Actions.
- - - SKIP THIS CRITICAL SPOILER ALERT, unless you want to know - - -
Everyone who watched this 2019 Movie ALREADY, thinks [RANSOM DRYSDALE] is the one WHO KILLED
In the LATER PART of the Movie; the Character Detective "DANIEL CRAIG", knows that MARTA CARBERA is actually
"THE ONE" who killed HARLAN; which, It Turns Out, is actually true.
That is because, about a Third-of-the-Way into the Movie, it is revealed that Harlan's beloved nurse Marta Cabrera (Ana de Armas) accidentally gave him a deadly dose of morphine, which meant he only had a few minutes to live.
BY A CLEVER BAIT and SWITCH, his Nurse accidentally injected him with a Lethal Dose of Morphine during his
Usual Nighttime Medical Routine. The dose is SO HIGH, that Harlan will be dead in just 10-Minutes.
[ Is there a Secret Ending, to "KNIVES OUT" ? ]
In Modern-Day Murder Mystery MOVIES , there are ALWAYS Twists Galore.
But in "KNIVES OUT" - you don't have to sit through the Credits, BECAUSE there are NO POST-CREDITS SCENES to see.
WITH Lack of a Post-Credits Scenes (is one of the Only "Spoilers" that you can hear, before the Movie - without Actually Giving Anything Away) [AND THAT WOULD RUIN such an AWESOME MOVIE].
I had to give my own LIBRARY RATING as 4-1/2Stars; because it is frustrating after (2hr 10mins); the
ENDING MOVIE SCENE just continues ON, without ANY explanation of (WHY this movie, WAS EVEN MADE).

Fabulously entertaining. Such a clever whodunit with a great cast.

Great movie with a good ending, not your normal who-dun-it...

"I spoke in the car about the hole at the center of this doughnut. And yes, what you and Harlan did that fateful night seems at first glance to fill that hole perfectly. A doughnut hole in the doughnut's hole. But we must look a little closer. And when we do, we see that the doughnut hole has a hole in its center - it is not a doughnut hole at all but a smaller doughnut with its own hole, and our doughnut is not a hole at all!"

Look around. The guy basically lives in a Clue board.

28 quotes in IMDb and they are all good. Thanks to its contributors. There are no doubt a few more memorable depending on one's interest. e.g.

One thing I assume of age is weariness. Damned if I don't get more tired every day. Tired of what I do. Following arcs like lobbed rocks, the inevitability of truth. But the complexity and the gray lie not in the truth but what you do with the truth once you have it.
