Add a CommentDecent enough but like someone said below, there is not much action-type action. By far, the action is talking-action. I admit I was a little surprised at the ending. I think it is sort of "noir" without fog and rain and private eyes. Cat was on the screen most of the time. Hope she got paid good. Adrian Dunbar was good a a bad guy (or was he really a bad guy?) but I think I like him better as a good cop in the Line of Duty series. Curious as to where series 2 goes. Watching it next week.
3* Very slow and depressing series. Acting good.
A guessing game to the end. Convincing acting.
Set in Ireland this dramatic thriller is full of secrets and lies. When Cat Hogan's mother dies unexpectedly Cat has questions and will stop at nothing to get the answers.
Heavy on the family drama and the story lags at times. Overall entertaining.
If you are looking for a glitzy, fast-paced, and flashy thriller, look elsewhere. If you are looking for a deliberately paced, intriguing, and absorbing drama, with great acting all round, then this could be the one for you. Too often series carry you to close to the end, then let you down. The does not--the ending is satisfying if you have paid due attention to the plot and the characters. Recommended.
Very bizarre series, way drawn out.Acting terrible, even as a 2 hour movie not worth watching. Only watched 3 episodes and fast forwarded through all of them. NO stars,do not recommend to anyone at all.Waste of time.
.
could not get into this one...the daughter Cat is just too much...did not finish the show :(
Disappointing! It starts fine, but gets worse as the story progresses! I lost interest!
Good British mystery / drama. Recommend. Kristi & Abby Tabby
Well-acted, but overly long mystery with fine actors Dunbar and newcomer Main, the latter appearing in almost every scene. The mood is dark and melancholy in this Irish drama, where finding out the truth about her mother's death is paramount to Cat (Catherine). There are twists and turns, but ultimately, this could have been a two-hour film.
