Today, few children's authors are remembered as fondly as Beatrix Potter. With her charming country tales about rabbits, and mice, and hedgehogs, she managed to capture the imagination of, and instill a few lessons into generations of children. In this collection, a number of well-known authors pay tribute to this classic children's author. The book is nicely divided into sections that feature one work at a time. Each provides a brief introduction to the historical context of said work, a short excerpt, and the notes from other authors. In these brief one page tributes, the creators relate their memories of, or thoughts about, that book, and how Beatrix Potter inspired them. They also provide an illustration, in their own style, based on it. While the facts about this lady's life are fascinating, and reading the thought's of others induces a nostalgic feeling, it would have been nice to see each story fully reproduced (the excerpts just leave you wanting to read them all again anyways). Still, it is a beautiful and heartfelt book, an homage that is just as much for adults, as it is for children, and future children.
