I was pleasantly surprised by this story and how it moved along in action. There was never a dull moment and the reader learns new things along with the protagonist Robin. It's never explained why he loses the use of his legs, but, it's still an engaging story. The black and white illustrations inside are better than the cover.

Some old English might make the read too strange for a child younger than 10-12ish, but fine as a read aloud above age 5-6. The story line is a little one-dimensional, but it does have a touching moral about unconditional love.
