Nanny McPhee can tame even the most unruly children with a tap of her magic walking stick. Her latest challenge is the bratty brood of a recent widower, Mr. Brown. He is under pressure to find a new wife or lose his much-needed allowance from wealthy Aunt Adelaide. His love for scullery maid Evangeline remains unspoken as he wincingly woos the eagerly merry widow Mrs. Quickly; but Brown's raucous rugrats have a plan to make things right, especially after they've come under the benevolent influence of Nanny McPhee, whose peculiar brand of discipline works wonders for everyone involved.

Nanny McPhee is a clever, humourous, and an all-around very enjoyable family film! It has good morals, likeable characters, and a uniquely spun storyline. There are several films in which a Nanny arrives and transforms the household; however, the extra details, and quirky touches that were added to this movie makes it something completely new! Emma Thompson excellently portrays Nanny McPhee in this charming Disney movie, and all of the special effects are fantastic. It is a film that I could watch over and over again! I would highly recommend this movie to other viewers! I think that it is a film that people of all ages would enjoy! 5/5

I love this movie!! It is one that would compliment any family video library. I have watched it a couple of times and always seem to pick up something new each time.

I ended up sort of liking this movie, which is god awful until Nanny McPhee actually shows up. From then on it's watchable and Emma Thompson does a good job in the title role. The deliberate excesses of the movie sometimes weigh it down too much. And Mary Poppins it definitely is not.

There is a lot of quirky fun to be had in this film. At the same time, the film contradicts some of its own messages. I felt one message was that we shouldn't judge people by appearances and social class. However [SPOILER ALERT] the movie makes the ugly nanny all beautiful in the end, and the former servant all beautiful and full of upper-class manners. So, what message does this actually teach? I wanted to like the film a lot, but I must confess that I was a little disappointed.

I've seen several movies of Emma Thompson's that i like, but when asked to list them, Nanny McPhee movies are always numbers 1 and 2. And I've seen all the Harry Potter movies, Stranger Than Fiction, Last Chance Harvey, and her version of A Midsummer Night's Dream.

One of the most beloved tale of love, family and happiness. With a twist of fun and adventure, just like Mary Poppins. The nanny seems to be tricky but to help a family be happy once more. The movie is good for all ages.

I enjoyed it, but my four year old thought it was mean and scary.
