Brilliant! Wonderful performances. Stellar cast. It was quick paced and entertaining.
We need more excellent films/series, like this one, on sexual harrassment.

Well done and worth a look if interested in the background story of Megyn Kelly leaving Fox Network and the turfing of Roger Ailes and Bill O'Reilly. Also provides an insight into the Fox Network culture (beyond how it viewed/treated females) - assuming the movie accurately reflects this.

This was a great movie with a great cast. I love movies based on real life, and this one was shocking to say the least.

Such an interesting film and it really makes me angry what men in power can get away with.

Very well done and completely captured the sleazeball nature of predatory people in power. Charlize Theron absolutely morphed into Megyn Kelly, but Nicole Kidman still looked like Nicole Kidman so that was a little distracting. The Special Features were 94 minutes and well worth watching.

As a film, it’s not as entertaining as I thought. As a current political social issue, it’s interesting. It would make you think what could secretly happen behind the scene when you watch news. I am surprised how a movie production can get permission from Fox News for it to be on this film cause it is surely not a positive image.

This movie, categorizes (RATED: R) by library for: Sexual Material and Language throughout.
I THOUGHT after watching entire DVD movie - it was an erotic "COMEDY/DRAMA", like PG-13 (Parents Strongly Cautioned)
/
When the Original FOX NEWS Version came out in 2016, it was more realistic; but for these high-paid Actresses in (2020 BOMBSHELL movie) - it (I) just felt bland emotions (as compared to what happened 4-years-prior).
/
Because I thought this 2020 DVD movie should have been a COMEDY/DRAMA; I could not STOP LAUGHING THROUGHOUT the entire 1hr 49min.
But others viewing this movie, might find it offensive on the subject of SEXUAL HARRASSEMENT TOWARDS WOMEN.
/
When the NEWS BROKE of Roger Ailes' s sexual harassment lawsuits - I HAD TO CONTINUALLY PAUSE MOVIE on my computer - to read all the "Breaking News reports" - between sections (1hr29MIN 15secs thru 29MIN 33secs).
/
!!! WARNING TO OTHERS WHO WANT, but HAVE NOT BORROWED THIS DVD MOVIE from library: The Bonus Materials are EXTREMELY-SUPER LONG !!!
/
On the ENDING CREDITS TO REMIND THE VIEWER: This is a re-creation of what happened 4-years-prior.
LIONS GATE FILMS states: THIS FILM (released December 20, 2019) IS A DRAMATIZATION INSPIRED BY ACTUAL EVENTS (and) THE CHARACTERS HAVE BEEN CREATED FOR "DRAMATIC PURPOSES".
/
> my own comment <: This was a fun DVD movie to watch, but TOO MANY PROSTHETICS. This DVD movie would have been more enjoyable seeing Before(prosthetics) and After(prosthetics) - IMAGES/pictures.

A strong cast, led by Charlize Theron (as Megyn Kelly), Nicole Kidman (as Gretchen Carlson), and Margot Robbie (as a made up character), lifts up this somewhat paint by numbers account of the fall of Roger Ailes (played as an ogre by John Lithgow). Director Jay Roach, known for the "Austin Powers" series, was probably the wrong guy for this movie, as it requires a subtlety and wit that he doesn't possess. Weren't there any female directors available? Kate McKinnon makes the most of her few scenes. Russell Crowe also played Ailes in "The Loudest Voice." See you in hell jerk.

Good movie but The Loudest Voice (Showtime/Russell Crowe) was much better - was able to go into much more detail about what happened at Fox News under that douchey creep of a man.

I watched it and forgot it already. With such a heavy hitter cast, I thought it would be better. Hated to see Lithgow in such a hideous role. Was he trying to ruin his reputation as an actor? How disappointing. Something was missing in this film. It was just plain cold. Or, maybe that's what they were going for. I can sum it up in one word: yuck.

Wasn’t unprincipled rightwing nut Megyn Kelly this very week supporting ex-President Trump with his crazy election-fraud conspiracy babbling? So much for her credibility. What a farce.
The most legitimate guy at Fox News, Shep Smith, took a hike over to CNBC. A wise move on his part.

So sick of seeing and hearing about Trump, we didn’t watch it.

Well defined script for a complicated topic with excellent actors portraying the good, bad and in-between characters. Too bad Fox was able to settle the case with the plaintiffs and bury the details against Ailes (John Lithgow) and O'Reilly. Margot Robbie has the most difficult role and performed admirably as Kayla Pospisil (an imagined composite victim such as Julie Zann and Tomi Lahren in real life.)

Note: Worthwhile to revisit other films about sexual harassment in workplaces

-- 1994 Disclosure (Michael Douglas and Demi Moore, a thriller as well.)
-- 2005 North Country (For her role, Charlize Theron was nominated Best Performance by an Actress in a Leading Role Oscar. The screenplay was inspired by the 2002 book Class Action: The Story of Lois Jenson and the Landmark Case That Changed Sexual Harassment.)
-- 2020 The Assistant (Julia Garner plays the assistant to a Harvey Weinstein-like studio.)

I would hope that men like Ailes/Reilly/charlie Rose/trump would be punished far beyond losing their cushy, obscene paying jobs but like racism, sexism will never completely disappear. But Epstein and weinstein were broken beyond repair. You reap what you sow.

"Overall, I liked Bombshell for the most part. I liked the acting, Charlize Theron, Nicole Kidman and Margot Robbie were great leading actresses with interesting characters, some more than others, but still interesting enough to hold my attention..." I enjoyed this movie. At almost 2 hours long, it went very quickly. I was amazed that Charlize Theron was made to appear so very much like Megan Kelly; from some camera angles I thought I was seeing Kelly. Most of the movie revolved around her character. I guess so little was around Nicole Kidman's catalyst character Gretchan Carlson because Carlson must have some NDA for her $20 million lawsuit. John Lithgow's Roger Ailes was very believable. Allison Janney also did a spot on representation in her short screen time of his attorney Susan Estrich. Seems to me a very authentic portrayal of an industry roiling with competition where every tactic is employed to succeed at any cost.

Really good movie about Fox News and Roger Ailes. The cast is great, the ladies put in tremendous effort. I think this is a good watch!

Pretty good-well acted. I was particularly impressed with John Lithgow’s performance. I thought the movie down played the seriousness of the situation and made some ofthe women seem shallow. Probably a real documentary would be better if you are looking to understand the true story.

Great story how a woman took on the powers at Fox for sexual harassment and won!! For once they had to acknowledge the truth. Kristi & Abby Tabby

This is an irredeemably bad movie made for the ME TOO crowd and the hate FOX liberals.
But it doesn't even do a good job of pandering to those. Cliched and derivative portrayal of aggressive, do-anything-to-advance women. Don't waste your time. This is a stinker and demeans people who watch it.

WOW! A real block buster. Special features quite long , but interesting , especially the prosthetic s. May have to watch it again. Lithgow was fantastic as Roger. I recall all this drama that unfolded years ago.

This might be THE "#MeToo" movie of all time.

Based on the infamous case of Roger Ailes, Fox News Chairman and CEO and political insider (Nixon, Reagan, Bush Trump) (played in fascinating fashion by John Lithgow,) the movie stars three respected actresses as FOX personalities/newscasters whose lives and careers were threatened--like those of others--by a sexual predator in the corner office. But it's not Ailes offences that drive the movie. It's the women's reactions.

As Meagan Kelly, Charlize Theron--a fascinating film chameleon much like Johnny Depp--acts as the movie's centrepiece, but it's her lower-ranking colleague Gretchen Carlson (Nicole Kidman) who takes the real risk by quitting and accusing Ailes, hoping others will come forward and do the same. At first, they do not. This is pretty predictable stuff.

However, the performance--and the role--that "steals the show" is Margot Robbie's turn as new, young hopeful, Kayla Pospisil. It's easy to see her as the innocent victim--until her scene with Theron, who is clearly her mentor. That scene--and Kayla's final exit--are key moments and give the movie an unexpected punch.
