Eh? This book was...definitely something. It started out interesting, became super boring in the middle, and then all the action was packed into the last few chapters. A lot darker than I expected, and I didn't really like the characters,…

I loved this book. It really does open a door to 3 series and 15+ future must read books. Sarah J Maas is amazing!

Honestly, i get the hype around this book, but for me it was a 3.5. And that’s because the first half of the book was SO BORING!!! Like it took everything in my will power to get through it. However, the second half of the book took a very…

Just not interested in fantasy style writing. Picked up book because of all the hype around the author but quickly realized this wasn't for me

Almost a 3, but I did really enjoy this story. The writing style was beautiful in the setting and general descriptions, so it drew me in from the start with Feyre hunting in the snow to feed her family. I think I would have liked more…

This was a fun one! I'm excited to read the others in this saga. It was a page turned, I didn't feel bored or like it was a chore to read. I think if this is your first time with fantasy and romance, it's perfect! I'd like a little more…

This book was packed full of adventure and romance. I felt that it was slow to start, but the story definitely picks up. I am excited to read the rest of the series. Overall, I would recommend this book to a friend.

When 19-year-old Feyre Archeron shoots a mysterious wolf in the woods to feed her starving family, she doesn’t expect to be forcibly placed in a world of faeries that live in the lands of Prythian. Now placed among the immortal high fae,…

My first foray into the subgenre "romantasy". I guess I wish it hadn't been so light in both areas - fantasy and romance. I liked enough here to read the next in the series but boy, was there a big part of this book that felt like…

If this book lived up to its opening sequence, it would be a good fantasy read. Feyre interested me when she was a competent, cynical hunter doing what she had to in order to survive. Once she was carried off to Faerie on the thinnest of…

This was an overall good book though it did kind of remind me of beauty and the beast. Booktok kept recommending this book to me so I had to try it. I will read the read the rest of the series.

June 2021 More of a 2.5 than a true 3. I didn't like the story but the vocabulary was rich despite the writing being repetitive. How many times was the word paint used in this book?

I HATED THIS BOOK WITH A BURNING PASSION. THREE MEN. THREE. All of them into stupid Feyre. Because her name is obviously the name of a species in world. She has no personality. Neither do her love interests. I had to keep reminding…

I’m done with this book, and I really mean it this time. A book club pick i didn’t have high hopes for, but hey, I’ve been pleasantly surprised before by good writing and storytelling in a genre I typically wouldn’t go for. This book has…

The melodramatic way the author wrote got annoying (such and such made her stop breathing, made her knees buckle, a smile tugged at her lips, she could hardly hear over the roar in her ears, her eyes stung as bile burned in her throat,…

I do not often find myself reaching for fantasy novels, but after hearing so much about ACOTAR, I had to give it a try. I loved this book and cannot wait to dive into the next instalment of the series. I love Maas's writing style.

4 stars for the guilty pleasure / fun fantasy that this was. I love both Tamlin and Rhys, what can I say 👁👁 Only reason I wouldn’t give it 5 stars is because I agree that the antagonist was super cheesy and some parts of the book were…

This fantasy romance feels like a variant somewhere between Cinderella and Beauty and the Beast. Set in a world of elves and magic, the characters were interesting, if the plot was fairly predictable. First in a series of novels.

First half of the book read like beauty and the beast. Second half was much darker and much more fast paced. Turned into a great page turner

Meh. It was entertaining but very easy to read. Writing style was mediocre. No depth, no lesson learned. It's basically a "comfort" book. You read it when you don't want to think too hard. This book is like a McDonald's meal. It's like…

The book has a slow start, mostly to develop the relationship between the main characters. While I did enjoy some scenes, I did get bored after a while. When the action finally starts in the latter half, it was much more interesting, but…
