It is light and dark and endless motion; it is space and time, and space within space, and time within time. And she knew: there is no limit to what the heart can carry.”“How many feelings can one heart hold?... Infinite, Luna thought. The way the universe is infinite. This book was a great read-out-loud book for my kids. It is written in verse and each poem had a different feel to it. All the poems came together to make a beautiful story about a young girl striving to find a place in a new land after war displaces her family. It makes you laugh and cry. A masterpiece of words. There were unexpected twists and turns throughout the story and I was shocked about what happens to one of the main characters. This book could stand the test of time and still be a jewel among other literary works.

** spoiler alert ** I hardly ever give a book five stars but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The story line was original and long lasting. If I could vote a book to become a classic, this one would definitely make the list. The imagery is vast and sweeping. The characters are uniquely original. There are no cliches in any part of the novel. When a boy meets girl it is always the same thing. They fall in love and live happily ever after. There is no dumb love triangle or parents holding them back or even some weird evil entity trying to stop them. In "Ever", boy meets girl but the boy is a God and the girl is a mortal. The interesting twist is that he doesn't do what other books do and give up his powers to live a mortal life with her. No, they instead take the hard road. She must become a heroine to become a God and live with him. I love this story. This is a story about sacrifice, self-doubt, and unconditional love. So refreshing.** spoiler alert ** I hardly ever give a book five stars but I was pleasantly surprised by this one. The story line was original and long lasting. Wonderful story of overcoming adversity. Children with disabilities are looked at so differently. But this author lets us venture into the mind of such a child and see that they are really not that different from the rest of us. My young daughters read this book and loved it. As a mother, my heart went out to the parents. The author did a good job in capturing the struggles and heartache the parents faced. My only wish would have been a better ending. We all know children (even teachers) are mean to those who are different. But the ending felt rushed and there was too much going on in the end. I loved this book but would have wanted the ending a little more drawn out.Wonderful story of overcoming adversity. Children with disabilities are looked at so differently. Kate Chopin wrote this book when people didn't speak about leaving their husbands. Symbolism abounds throughout the novel. The references to a bird in the description of everyday moments lead a reader to believe that Edna Pontellier is the bird and the cage is marriage and the traditions of society. She felt trapped and wanted to be free to be her own person. A sad story in the end. I felt that Kate was mocking society by writing a story about a woman wanting more from life and in not receiving it kills herself because life wouldn't be worth living in the restraints of society's norms.Kate Chopin wrote this book when people didn't speak about leaving their husbands. A book is good when you can laugh out loud or cry at different parts. A book is great when you scream the word "seventy" in the middle of reading a section. The adventure was fast and fun, and I'm sorry to see it end. The characters become people who you care for like family. Catanese's story of a young boy filled with emotion for his friends comes to a raw conclusion with the main character severing the ties to fulfill his destiny. Time seemed limitless in this story and the reader is caught up on a wave to the future.A book is good when you can laugh out loud or cry at different parts.
